Since today was the first day of the Patch 5.4 - Siege of Orgrimmar most of you are going there to fight in the Celestial Tournament. Beside where the quest is for the Celestial Tournament there is an NPC named Little Tommy Newcomer who has a daily account challenge for you. The daily is to defeat a pet called lil' Oondasta. This pet is a legendary in every sense of the word. He will eat your face if your not careful. It took me 2 tries to be him with my Howl Bomb team. I figure I would share this strategy since I haven't seen one out there yet.
The quest is called - "Defeat Little Tommy Newcomer" It will reward you with 19 gold and 500 Timeless Coins and can be done once a day per account.
You need the following pets with these abilities queued in each slot;
Crawling Claw (P/S)
Pandaren Water Spirit (H/S)
Lil' Bad Wolf (P/P)
lil' Oondasta has these 3 abilities in the chamber and all of them hit like a truck; Spitfire Beam, Frill Blast & Crush.
You can read a longer version of the Howl Bomb Team where it take a bit more time to explain the dynamics of this team for when you are fighting single pet adversaries. This team can be used on other legendary pet fights in the Celestial Tournament.

Am I right that any pet with Curse of doom would work instead of the crawling claw, e.g. the val'kyr? Despite 150+ tol'vir solves the past three days the claw one still eludes me :|
ReplyDeleteI used my valkyr, cast doom, he swapped it out I brought it back in and cast ascension. Then the valkyr dies. Then I used clockwork gnome and the lil smoky. I think it essentially is the doom hit is nice but rez used the claw since he doesnt have a valkyr. :) You will be fine using the valkyr lol .
ReplyDelete@yoco, you are right, any pet with Curse of Doom will work as well. I have another post that will publish this Monday that will give you subs for this team and some other suggestions to make it viable.

there is another, simpler way and with 2 pets only. Clockwork Gnome (build turret) and Chrominus (or any pet with howl) There's several videos with it out there, and the pets are easier to get.. Atleast gnome is easier to get than Claw with Arch
